On January 21, 2018, The Alliance of Women Directors (AWD) will host a keynote and cocktail party in celebration of filmmaker and AWD member Amy Adrion, director of the feature-length documentary film HALF THE PICTURE, which will premiere in the Sundance Film Festival 2018.

The keynote will also feature Jennifer Warren, Chair of AWD, at an invitation-only event on Main Street in Park City, UT. Special invited guests include participants in the documentary, such as Lena Dunham, Miranda July and Ava DuVernay.

Founded in 1997, Alliance of Women Directors is an inclusive collective of professional women-identifying and gender nonbinary directors who have banded together to address film industry inequality and support one another’s career advancement. Focused on providing education and professional support for members in the form of hands-on craft enrichment and mentorship, the AWD community is tireless in its advocacy efforts to increase opportunities for all.

Amy Adrion is a Director/Producer/Writer whose work has played at Tribeca, Austin and Los Angeles Film Festivals, been broadcast on PBS and MTV, and won awards including a DGA Student Film Award. HALF THE PICTURE, a documentary about women film and television directors, is Amy’s first feature. Selected as one of 24 fellows for Women In Film’s Financing Intensive, Amy will premiere HALF THE PICTURE at Sundance 2018.
Jennifer Warren has directed three films and produced YOU DON’T HAVE TO DIE, an Academy Award-winning documentary. She is a founding member and current president of Alliance of Women Directors, and is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences and Women in Film. Dedicated to teaching the next generation of directors, she is an Associate Professor at the USC School of Cinematic Arts.
