How the Real World Stifles Creativity – An Uplifting Award-Winning Short Film

By July 24, 2017No Comments

Even in the best of times, it’s tough to be a writer. Tougher still if you’re one of the millions that balances their writing with a full plate of other “adult” responsibilities, like kids or a full time job.

We’ve all been there. But that doesn’t change the fact that sometimes the “real world” doesn’t seem particularly interested in validating our more creative pursuits.

But fear not! If the rigors of day-to-day life have you feeling overworked and uninspired, we’ve got the perfect video to kick your spirits up a notch.“Alike” is a powerful, uplifting animated short, encapsulates the risks of letting the real world weigh down the things that matter to you the most.

Featured at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival, the eight-minute long short film was directed by Spanish filmmakers Daniel Martinez Lara, a 20-year animation teacher, and Rafa Cano Méndez, who directed the Goya Award-nominated short film Tachaaan!
