Announcing the 2017 WeScreenplay Feature Contest Quarterfinalists

By January 12, 2018April 12th, 2020No Comments

Thank you to the nearly one thousand writers who entered the 2017 WeScreenplay Feature Contest. Your hard work, talent, and dedication to storytelling shines through in the entries we received. We’re so honored to be entrusted with your projects which is why every entry is read at least twice and all scores are made transparent to the writer.

With such strong submissions, we are thrilled to advance 134 entries to the quarterfinal round for a third read. If your script is advancing, it means your first two judges agreed you have an excellent screenplay and places you and your project one step closer to over $20,000 in prizes and mentorship from some amazing industry leaders.

We also want to express our gratitude and encouragement to the scripts that will not be advancing to the next round. There were many strong scripts that did not advance. If your script is not on this list, it does not at all mean that our judges didn’t enjoy the read – in fact, we’re confident some of the scripts not advancing will bring their writers success in the very near future. Thank you for entering your script and always keep writing.

Finally – we’d like to encourage everyone to check out the 2018 WeScreenplay Diverse Voices Screenwriting Contest (link coming soon). Its mission is to provide a platform for promoting and encouraging diverse voices and stories. Previous winners have signed with management companies and optioned scripts.
